RAJAGOPAL K ACHARYA MUSICIAN GUITARIST COMPOSER
Rajagopal, a versatile musician, lead guitarist from Mangalore, has been at the receiving end of public praise and public appreciation for his contributions and achievements in the field of music.
He began professionally performing music in 1990 and has never looked back since. His music and technique has matured with time.
He has been leading the well-known coastal Karnataka music band 'STRINGS' since 18 years, performing for several corporate shows and concerts.
Rajagopal has worked with award winning music composers such as Mr. Gurukiran & Mr. Praveen D. Rao for several South Indian films and music albums. He has also performed with legendary playback singers - Shri S. P. Balasubramanium, Smt. S. Janaki, Smt. K. S. Chitra, Smt, Usha Uthup, Shri Udit Narayan, Shri Kunal Ganjawala. Smt. Chitra Iyer and Shri Vijay Prakash and several others accompanying them for live shows and TV reality shows.
As a well recognized TV personality, he has performed both solo and with other star artistes in several Kannada TV Channels such as Zee TV Kannada, ETV Kannada, Kasturi TV, Suvarna TV and Udaya TV.
His fusion music performances with several Indian Classical musicians has also helped him carve out a niche as one of the most versatile guitarist in the state of Karnataka, India.
Besides performing and recording, Rajagopal has also involved himself in trying to bridge the gap between Western genres and Indian Classical music by working closely with musicians from varied musical genres. His interest in taking a more broad-viewed approach to music has driven him to participate in various music workshops and conferences. His enthusiasm to teach has also motivated him to train and guide budding guitarists and musicians, so that his musical legacy lives on.
